Food Waste Tracking
Food Waste Tracking
Ready. Set. Record!
For each day during the food waste tracking week, record your food waste. This action accepts one entry per day, so be sure to enter one total for food waste across all of your meals, or weigh all of your food waste once at the end of each day. Please use ounces for unit of measurement.
Planning
Meal Prep Mania
I will meal prep 7 meals.
Cooking
Repurpose Leftovers
Give leftovers a new life! For example, use leftover rice to make fried rice. I will try a recipe that repurposes leftovers 1 times.

Debbie Honeycutt 5/17/2020 3:15 PMGoing well...cooking a lot and trying new recipes. Lots of 'refuse' with artichokes my favorite spring vegetable -
Debbie Honeycutt 5/13/2020 1:20 PMBought prepared salad greens to eliminate waste. -
Debbie Honeycutt 5/11/2020 8:55 PMMade soup today using up some older veggies, so more peelings and bad spots. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/27/2020 3:23 PMJust some salad peelings today...been ordering out and taking home a lot of leftovers that I actually eat. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/24/2020 7:50 AMOut with the grapefruit that wasn't ripe...even though I let it sit for a month. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/24/2020 7:49 AMEating a lot more vegetables / fruits has created more waste but I am also learning that some peels are very edible. Unfortunately I picked a grapefruit that had dropped off my tree and it was not ripe/sweet at all so I had to toss. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/21/2020 12:24 PMI had both lunch and dinner out this day and cleaned my plate both times with the exception of some bread which I brought with me for lunch today. My only waste at breakfast was 1 egg - shells...out it went to my potted plant. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/21/2020 12:22 PMToday I made vegetable soup and a big salad. I did not to peel several items, put some just needed to to composted. I also cleaned out and couple of items that had 'gone bad'. -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/16/2020 11:10 AMSmall mount to start but went out to a dinner seminar and the food was terrible so I only ate 1/2 of it with no desire to take it home even if I could have... -
Debbie Honeycutt 1/14/2020 8:49 AMThis included an avocado pit which is 2 ounces alone. I am eating more vegetables to I envision more waste ahead for me, but I am going to do less peeling to add fiber and reduce 'waste'.
