Food Waste Tracking

Food Waste Tracking

Ready. Set. Record!

For each day during the food waste tracking week, record your food waste. This action accepts one entry per day, so be sure to enter one total for food waste across all of your meals, or weigh all of your food waste once at the end of each day. Please use ounces for unit of measurement.

I bought supplies to make a cucumber salad recipe I saw online, but when I was done I had a lot of leftover ingredients that I don't normally use. Today I made deviled eggs with the leftover sour cream, dill, and Dijon mustard! Yay for reusing stuff and getting two recipes out of one batch of groceries!

I used up my produce before leaving on vacation. Imagine my surprise when I came home and didn't have food! I'm excited to start my fridge out fresh. I think I'll move my vegetables to the front of the middle shelf so I can see them and grab them for snacking.

I got an email about the "Wasted Celebration" this weekend. It features local and national chefs/mixologists making food and drinks from ingredients that would typically be thrown out of their kitchens. Tickets are expensive but it sounds like such a great idea!
